NASHVILLE, Tenn.-- A Hermitage man nearly threw away a winning Powerball ticket worth $1 million big ones.

Truck driver John Young purchased the ticked at a Love's Travel Stop on highway 70E in Jackson and nearly tossed the ticket after he misread the numbers. Luckily for him, he double-checked and collected the prize at the Tennessee Lottery's Nashville office.

John becomes the 28th winner of a Powerball ticket valued $1 million or more since the lottery began.
