Death of Robertson Co. Woman Ruled a Homicide

UPDATE: SPRINGFIELD, Tenn- The death of a woman killed in a Springfield house fire has been ruled a homicide according to police. 

A Medical Examiner's preliminary report ruled the official cause of death was due to a gunshot wound before the home caught on fire. 

David Greenwood, the suspect in this case, died following a shootout with police in Etowah. Detectives are still investigating the cause of the fire. 

ORIGINAL REPORT - New information tonight on BREAKING NEWS we brought you last night at 9pm. We now know a person of interest in a deadly Robertson County fire is dead. County investigators say David Greenwood died in a shootout with police in McMinn County, Tennessee last night. Deputies wanted to talk to him about a fire that claimed the life of his girlfriend. Investigators found Kim Moran in a burned out home over the weekend, but were not sure the fire killed her.
