Fox 17 News has confirmed Nashville-based Hospital Corporation of America plans to buy land off Charlotte Avenue between 11-th Avenue Industrial and Interstate 40 to construct new headquarters buildings for two of its associated companies.

This is part of a deal announced earlier this year to bring two thousand new jobs to Davidson County.  The original plan was to make new space for  Parallon Business Solutions and the Sarah Cannon Research Institute, which are subsidiaries of HCA, part of the West End Summit development just West of downtown.  When that deal faltered, HCA began looking for land.

The new project is estimated at two hundred million dollars.  When the new business towers open in 2016, it will represent the largest economic development "get" since Dell Computers moved into the old Middle Tennessee Mental Health property near the airport in the early 1990's.

Metro councilwoman Erika Gilmore, who represents the area HCA has targeted for its new headquarters, tells Fox 17 News having thousands of new workers in the area is good for her district and good for Nashville.
