Removal of Confederate Generals From Military Installations Considered

Stream Fox 17 newscasts LIVE starting with Fox 17 This Morning at 5 am and News at 9 pm.

The U.S. Army War College in Pennsylvania is considering the removal of portraits depicting Confederate generals.

The list includes Robert E. Lee and Thomas "Stonewall" Jackson.

One argument sides with the removal by asking why we should honor individuals who were considered enemies of the United States Army.

On the flip side, supporters argue these were central figures in the country's history. General Lee's portraits can be found in many military properties and he is even on display at West Point, where he was superintendent.
