Local Band Plays One Week a Year to Pay Tribute to the Charlie Brown Christmas Soundtrack

NASHVILLE, TN - -  Members of the trio "The Ornaments" play for some of musics most famous artists. But for one week every year they play together as their own band. "We are a band that plays the soundtrack from Charlie Brown TV special from beginning to end. We are a band that only exists in December." says band member Jen Gunderman

Famous in their own right, every Christmas Nashville eagerly welcomes The Ornaments. "It is a shared experience unlike any. Most time you play and people love it and you are playing, but there is an emotional connection because of this tradition." says drummer Martin Lynds.

They are a piano trio, but every night the band add one extra person, making the tribute very Nashville. "Every night we feature a different soloists." says Jen.
The band came up with the concept seven years ago and have watched the event and even the families that attend grow each year. "Every year they want us to do more and more and all of a sudden there are babies that came in sleeping in a cradle for the first time that are now walking and talking." says Martin

They play here at East Nashville's Family Wash. You can have a seat and eat dinner or just stand and enjoy the sounds of the season. "It's warm and inviting. Everyone knows everyone here and even strangers are friends when walk in here."

An intimate evening where at anytime you could become the star. "Sometimes we have someone come up and join us for Christmas Time is Here or other familiar songs."
Familiar sounds that serve as a time marker that Middle Tennessee families can share every year. "Joy is the key to all music. If we can bring a little joy we've done our job."
