Vandy Coach Could Testify in Rape Case - Erika Lathon

NASHVILLE, Tenn.- Vanderbilt Football Coach, James Franklin could be subpoenaed to testify in a campus rape trial. Four former Commodore Football players are accused of raping an unconscious female in a dorm room this past summer. The legal team for one of the suspects, Brandon Vandenburg is considering issuing a subpoena for Coach Franklin to testify. Early on there was speculation that Franklin may have instructed players to destroy cell phone video or photographs of the alleged assault. Franklin has called the allegations baseless. District Attorney, Tom Thurman has also stated that Coach Franklin had no involvement in an alleged cover up and has cooperated fully with the investigation. Vandenburg's legal team says its discussing a subpoena for Coach Franklin but has not yet made a final decision.
