Terminal Cancer Patient Robbed by Healthcare Worker in Hermitage, Other Victims Suspected

Stream Fox 17 newscasts LIVE starting with Fox 17 This Morning at 5 am and News at 9 pm.

NASHVILLE, Tenn.-- An 85-year-old terminally ill cancer patient was the victim of stolen cash and jewelry, but it wasn't done by a burglar --it was her home healthcare worker who allegedly stole her belongings.

Metro Police arrested Sheena Lashunda Gentry, 37, of Hillside Rd. for the theft of cash and jewelry which included a 1947 class ring which belonged to the victim. Detectives found Gentry had indeed pawned the ring on two occassions, collecting a total of $900.

During the investigation, Detective Kevin Wallace also discovered Gentry has pawned 75 pieces of jewelry at different Nashville pawn shops since 2008. Hermitage Precinct detectives are now investigating if Gentry could have victimized other seriously ill patients she worked for.

Gentry is licensed by the state as a registered nurse but detectives have requested proceedings for her removal.

Detective Wallace has asked to be contacted if family members of persons for whom Gentry worked for believe they have lost valuables as well. He can be reached at 615-862-7579.
