Former Metro Police Sergeant Accused of Stealing $20K

NASHVILLE, Tenn.-- Former Metro Police Sergeant John Patton, 59, turned himself in to police today after being indicted by a Davidson County grand jury for one-count of felony theft. Patton is accused of misappropriating around $20,000 from the UNA Recreation Center where he volunteered.

Patton retired in May after a 36-year career with the department during the investigation into the matter. Bond has been set at $20,000 for his release.
