Update: Metro police arrest a teen in connection with the murder of Moises Cedeno. 19 year old Matthew McDowell is charged with criminal homicide. He is accused of shooting Cedeno outside a store on 17th Avenue North Friday afternoon. Police say he was trying to rob Cedeno before the shooting.

Nashville, Tenn--Metro Police are asking the public for help identifying the gunman who killed a man who was sitting in a van outside a midtown market  Friday afternoon.

That gunman's face was caught by security camera as he ran away from Lee's Market.

Police say the gunman tried to rob Moises Cedeno, 32, of Clarksville then fatally shot him in the leg when Cedeno put his hands out the open van window in what appeared to be a defensive reaction.

"I think any of us can imagine being in that same predicament so that's why it's so urgent that we get this person identified," said Police Spokesperson Kristin Mumford.

Ramez Adam was one of two market employees inside at the time talking to Cedeno's co-worker who was ordering a sandwich.

"Somebody hit the door I just look and I see somebody get on the floor and too much blood," said Adam.

Adam says Cedeno and his co-worker have been customers at the market before and he describes the victim as a nice guy.

Both men work for A & S Electric incorporated.

Co-workers tell Fox 17 News Cedeno has four kids and has only worked for the company for a week and a half.
