UPDATE: Chris Ferrell, owner of Pit & Barrel has been charged with second-degree murder for the shooting death of country singer Jerald Wayne Mills.

PREVIOUS REPORT: NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- In another twist to a tragic story, an episode of Spike TV's Bar Rescue aired Monday morning at Nashville's Pit and Barrel, after the owner of the bar shot and killed a man there Saturday morning.

Spike TV late Sunday night posted on Facebook that the night's new episode would be an encore, following the shooting death of a patron at the bar by it's owner. And it was. A reply posting thanked them for not airing the episode.

After airing the episode as a "repeat" at midnight Monday, however, Spike TV is seeing a spike alright. People are displaying their outrage right on Bar Rescue's Facebook page. CLICK HERE.

On Saturday morning, Pit and Barrel owner Chris Ferrell shot Nashville Singer/Songwriter Jerald Wayne Mills, 44, of the Wayne Mills Band, at the bar on 2nd Ave. S., after it closed, according to Metro Police. Mills went to the hospital in critical condition where he later died.

Ferrell says he shot Mills in self-defense. Witnesses heard gunshots at around 5 a.m. after they say an argument erupted between the two when Mills smoked a cigarette in a non-smoking area.

Prior to Wayne being identified as the victim, police misidentified 50-year-old Nashville Songwriter Clayton Mills as the victim due to witness information. There is also another Nashville Songwriter named Clay Mills that got mixed up in the story, as he has the same name.

Police continue to investigate.

Following the airing of this morning's episode, a petition was posted online seeking a formal apology to the Mills family by SPIKE TV. CLICK HERE.
