NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Almost halfway through November, and you may be noticing some shaggy, not shaved faces. Men's Health is getting the spotlight during what's becoming known as "No Shave November". The trend started a couple of years ago, but is just now becoming widespread. Doctors at TriStar Summit Hospital hope the beards serve as an encouragement and reminder to men to get screened for prostate cancer, which is the 2nd most common cancer in men. The test is simple and only takes about 15 minutes. Dave Haywood of Lady Antebellum tweeted pictures of his beard today. Prostate cancer can be very aggressive and deadly. It's more common in the African American and Hispanic populations, and in men over 40. Doctors say early detection is the key.
