NASHVILLE, Tenn.-- Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam took to the stage at West Wilson Middle School in Mt. Juliet today to announce Tennessee is the #1 state for education growth in 2013. No state in the 10-year history of NAEP testing has ever shown the growth which Tennessee has this year.

Gov. Haslam added "we literally blew away the other states." Tennessee showed growth of 21.8 for the year. The second-closest state was Indiana, which came in with a 13.93 growth rate.

NAEP stands for the National Assessment of Educational Progress testing, which is a national assessment program.
