Nashville, Tenn- People from across the Mid-State will pound the pavement in an effort to raise awareness about breast cancer. The annual "Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk" takes place this Saturday at LP Field.

The walk brings together survivors and those still fighting for their lives. Marilyn Harris went to battle against breast cancer nearly four years ago. She had an aggressive form and underwent a lumpectomy, mastectomy, six months of chemotherapy and 33 rounds or radiation. But today Marilyn is cancer free.

Each year Marilyn's family participates in the Making Strides Against Cancer Walk. She says, "because you're finished,  you're now responsible for bringing someone else through.."

Marilyn now wears the pink breast cancer ribbon as her badge of honor and hopefully to inspire others in the fight of their lives.
