FOX NEWS: If you hail from the Lone Star state or the Heart of Dixie, then chances are you wont have any problems in the dating department.
A recent survey from Cupid.com revealed that the southern accent was voted first place as the most attractive in North America.

So what is it that makes the southern accent so appealing to members of the opposite sex? When it comes to romance, most of us dream of long lazy days in the sun, epic sunsets and, ahem, rolls in the hay, says a release for the dating site, which also notes that over 2,000 men and women participated in the survey.

Its therefore no surprise that in at number one is the sweet sound of the South. The distinctive sound of the southern drawl is infamous the world over, but who knew its sing-song tones were secretly such a turn on?

When it came to both men and women, both were won over by the southern accent, reaching nearly 40 percent of votes in total. Second place goes to New Yorkers and urban bachelors, in particular, should take note: A rep for Cupid.com states that the New York accent was particularly popular among women, nearly out beating the southern drawl.

As for the least attractive? Last place goes to those from mid-Atlantic states, including Delaware and Pennsylvania. Perhaps that could explain why Taylor Swift tends to have trouble when it comes to love.

Did your state make the cut? Check out the results below.
