La Vergne H.S. Lunch Practices Questioned

Stream Fox 17 newscasts LIVE starting with Fox 17 This Morning at 5 am and News at 9 pm.

La Vergne, Tenn. (AP)--La Vergne High School's lunchroom policy of separating students with poor grades from their classmates has drawn questioning from parents.

Some parents have called the practice a form of segregation, noting kids who score below an 80 don't get to sit with the rest of the students.

School administrators say the initiative has worked, noting two years ago the graduation rate was about 77 percent compared to almost 90 percent now.
