NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- A fatal hit-and-run crash at midnight on I-40 East at mile marker 211 (at the I-24 West split) eastbound traffic shut down until 5 a.m.

At 2:30 a.m., Metro Police say they have the suspect in custody. Jose Castillo, of Nashville, is in the Davidson County Jail charges of vehicular homicide after police say he failed several sobriety tests. Castillo's bail is set at $205,000. He suffered no injuries in the accident.

The motorcyclist died after transport to Vanderbilt Medical Center, according to police. They also say that Castillo, the driver of a VW Passat involved, ran from the scene. Police say he admitted to being the driver at the hospital.

Police say the car pushed the motorcycle into the left guardrail. The motorcycle went back across the interstate and hit the right guardrail, where it came to a rest.

The name of the motorcyclist has not been released.

Castillo is also arrested for driving on a suspended driver's license.
