US: Tough sanctions on Iran remain despite deal

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Iran is sending out mixed messages about its nuclear program. As FOX's Leland Vittert shows us, the country's UN Ambassador says it will stop testing in January, but the country's Foreign Minister says that won't happen if Israel gets involved. Iran's Ambassador to the UN announcing a new timetable for getting the Iran nuclear deal up and running. He wouldn't go into detail about when Iran would stop enriching higher-grade uranium, a key part of the agreement, but said those details would be worked out at a meeting next month. In Tehran, a potential diplomatic setback. Syria's visiting Prime Minister congratulation Iran on its victory in the negotiations, suggesting it could help the Assad government win the ongoing Syrian civil war.

Also on Friday, Iran's Foreign Minister reacting harshly to suggestions that Israel could participate in talks between Iran and the West. The nuclear deal calls for Iran to freeze its nuclear expansion in exchange for some modest economic relief. It's set to expire in 6 months unless a longer-term deal is reached.
