Corey Smith Releases "Aint Going Out Tonight" To Satellite Radio

Stream Fox 17 newscasts LIVE starting with Fox 17 This Morning at 5 am and News at 9 pm.

Nashville, Tn - - Social Media isn't the only thing that is helping Country singers launch their careers. Technology such as Satellite Radio has totally changed the game as well. Fox 17 Entertainment Reporter Stacy McCloud sat down with Georgia singer songwriter Corey Smith, who had his new single released to satellite radio on Wednesday.

Corey Smith's single "Ain't Going Out Tonight" has hit the satellite radio airwaves. "Sirius is all over the nation. The timing feels like it's working well" says Smith.

From a high school teacher recording music in his spare time, to leaving that career 8 years ago and chasing his dreams, Corey says it's been a long road to radio.  "The first tweet that I saw this morning, a girl tweeted me that she heard it on Sirius this morning and she said that it's nice I have made it, but that she was sad that I wasn't her secret anymore."

Corey is being called "an up and coming singer songwriter, but this single is actually off his ninth studio album. "I've accomplished more than I dreamed. The past several years have been me aiming higher."

Having his new single on the radio may not make Corey a superstar, but he says he knows this album is a step forward and certainly a far cry from the days when he was okay with  people stealing his songs. "My career really wouldn't even be possible without Myspace and also Napster and Limewire. But  now that I'm spending money I don't want them sharing. Please buy my record so that I can make another one" laughs Smith.

Corey is about to leave on a headlining tour later this Fall. His full album will be released sometime the first of 2014.
