NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Ivy Larue Dobson surrendered to Metro Police Thursday, a day after he allegedly attempted to rob a woman outside Opry Mills Mall. The 66-year-old victim told police a man put a gun to her neck just as she got into her car. As he attempted to reach for her purse she fought back and tried to gouge the man's eyes with her thumb. The man ran off and left the area in a gold car. Police later questioned Dobson after someone reported a suspicious vehicle near Lebanon Pike and Spence Lane. During the course of the investigation, officers identified the 19-year-old through mall surveillance video. Neighbors in Dobson's Hermitage neighborhood were shocked, describing the teen as quiet and polite. Dobson is charged with attempted aggravated robbery.
