Tenn.'s Most Notorious Killer Off Death Row, in the Hospital

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Tennessee's most notorious killer is off death row and in the hospital this morning. Relatives of Paul Reid's victims are upset because the state won't tell them why. Reid was sentenced to death for the murders of 7 restaurant workers in Nashville and Clarksville in 1997. Gina and Jerry Jackson's daughter was among them. 16 year old Sarah Jackson and 25 year old Steve Hampton were Reid's first victims. They were murdered during a robbery at the Captain D's on Lebanon Road in Donelson. The Jackson's say they deserve to be kept in the loop. The Department of Correction won't confirm anything, citing privacy laws, but FOX17 has learned Paul Reid is being treated at Metro General Hospital at Meharry. Steve Hampton's widow, Deanna, tells FOX17 NEWS it makes her mad that Reid has all the rights.
