Freeze Warning, Cumberland Plateau Advisory

Winter-like conditions will be possible for middle Tennessee this weekend. A freeze warning is in effect for Friday and Saturday night. Temperatures will drop to around the freezing mark in Nashville and upper 20s outside the metro area. Saturday night will be even colder with temperatures dropping as low as the mid-20s outside the metro. Breezy NW winds will add to the chill. In addition to the cold, rain showers along the Cumberland Plateau will change over to light snow overnight.

Inclement Weather Causes Officials to Make Alternate Halloween Plans

Severe weather predictions for Halloween on Thursday night are causing some to make alternate plans:

Hopkinsville:
Upon the recommendation of Christian County Emergency Management Director Randy Graham, the schedule for this year's Halloween activities and events in Hopkinsville have been adjusted due to the likelihood of dangerous storms. The revised schedule: Downtown Trick-or-treat will be held on November 1 from 3:30 - 5:30 p.m. Hopkinsville neighborhood and organization trick-or-treat activities are encouraged to be observed on Nov. 1 from 5-8 p.m. only. There is no change in Trick R Treat at the Mall on Oct. 31 from 4-7 p.m. at Bradford Square Mall.


Mt. Juliet:
The Mt. Juliet Police Department says that if trick-or-treating is stormed out, that November 1 from 5-9 p.m. is the alternate date and time.
