"Operation Blackout" to Monitor Registered Sex Offenders Halloween Night

NASHVILLE, Tenn.--Metro Nashville Police Sex Crimes Unit is assisting the Department of Correction with "Operation Blackout" this Halloween night. Operation Blackout is in place to ensure registered sex offenders comply with their mandated restrictions. 


Those restrictions are: 
--Remain inside their homes between the hours of 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. Halloween night.

--Leave porch lights off

--Not open their door to trick-or-treaters.

--Not display fall decorations, wear costumes or dress in disguise.



Registered sex offenders who are not on parole or probation and whose victims were minors are not allowed to pretend to be, dress as, impersonate or assume the identity of a real or fake person/character while in the presence of a minor or with intent of enticing a minor.
