Ruling: Smell of Alcohol Alone Not Grounds for Car Search

KANSAS -- It may smell like a brewery in your car, but does that mean police should be able to search your car?
A ruling declares cops can no longer do so, at least in Kansas, just because they detect the scent of booze. The Kansas State Supreme Court says it ruled in favor of protecting peoples' rights.
Sobriety tests will still be enforced across the state, and if you've been drinking and driving, you'll still go to jail.
