COOKEVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Tennessee Tech coach Watson Brown has agreed to terms on a contract extension through the 2019 season.

Brown's extension was officially announced Tuesday through a university release and was first reported by the Cookeville Herald-Citizen. Financial terms weren't disclosed.

Brown is 33-46 in seven seasons at Tennessee Tech and led the 2011 team to the school's first Football Championship Series playoff appearance. He owns a 127-197-1 record overall and begins his 30th season as a head coach Thursday when Tennessee Tech hosts Kentucky Christian. Brown previously coached at Austin Peay, Cincinnati, Rice, Vanderbilt and UAB.

In a university statement, the 64-year-old Brown said, "We plan on getting another championship during my time here, and I'm looking forward to working through all six years of this contract."
