Father Ryan celebrates a historical milestone

A 50-year anniversary celebration at Father Ryan High School Tuesday night.  The Irish recognizing a milestone in their school history.  50 years ago, Jesse Porter and Willie Brown became the first integrated African-American student-athletes in Nashville and Tennessee scholastic history.

Tuesday night, Brown's #50 jersey was retired at Leo Long Gymnasium in between the girls and boys basketball games.  Brown passed away in 1975, but his sister Ann was on hand for this ceremony honoring her brother.

Father Ryan is retiring Brown's jersey not just in basketball, but the #50 for all sports at the school.
