Idol is back with auditions in Aspen, Colorado! In all, 31 hopefuls were sent away with a golden ticket. Here is a glance at some of the highs and lows of the night.

17 year old Shelby Tweten from Minnesota She sang a Carrie Underwood song for the judges.  Shelby suffers from bipolar and depression and says that singing gives her an outlet as well as motivation to make sure she keeps up with taking her medication. The judges loved her voice and her passion and easily sent her on to Hollywood.

Also going to Hollywood is Haley Smith from Utah. The 18 year old works three jobs and lives in a cabin. But she will be packing her bags and moving on up as she get's a chance to shine in Hollywood. The judges liked her originality and Steven Tyler said it was an honor to hear her sing.

They certainly didn't save the best for last, maybe the most entertaining though!
This is Magic Cyclops - an air guitar player that tried to win his way to the judges hearts by singing some Jimmy Buffet.
He made them laugh and even walk away, but no golden ticket. He was sent packing!
