Nashville Searching for City Christmas Tree
Metro Parks is asking for help in finding the perfect tree to serve as the centerpiece for the citys holiday celebration.
The event is scheduled for December 4 at 6 p.m at the Metro Courthouse.
Metro Parks Horticulturalist Randall Lantz says the Parks Department is looking for a 30 to 40-foot Norway Spruce that looks good from all angles.
Lantz says it's important the tree look good all the way around because it will be viewed from all angles.
He says they prefer for there to have been little to no pruning.
Lantz says the department prefers a tree that either needs to be removed for some reason or has outgrown its location.
The Parks Department will cut down the tree, grind the stump, and plant a replacement tree if desired.
If you have or know of a tree that meets the criteria, call Randall Lantz at 862-8400 or email him at Randall.Lantz@nashville.gov. Nashville Searching for City Christmas Tree
