I'm Saving You Money on Valentine's Day. Last year, most men spent around $170 dollars. Women spent on average $86 dollars. There's a cheaper way to show you care that's just as romantic. Let's start with bouquets on a budget. You'll score the best deal with local florists and warehouse stores. Here, you can pick them up yourself and hand deliver--- always more romantic. Savings on delivery? $15 to $20 bucks.
Ditch the vase... and go for a wrap. This can save you 50%. Also, look for tight buds. They'll last the longest.
Don't forget, savings can be found when you're making memories too.

If it's a brand new relationship, you may do something simple and non committal.. like meet at Starbucks where featured drinks are buy one get one free to share with someone special on Valentine's Day.
When it comes to kids-- set the tone early on says Darcy Jones with Family Circle Magazine, "It's one day. It's kind of a made up day and your job as a parent is to sort of create some balance for them."

2 appellate court judges are stepping down

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Two Tennessee appellate court judges have notified Gov. Bill Haslam that they will not run for another term on the bench in the August 2014 retention election.
Patricia J. Cottrell, a judge on the Court of Appeals, and Joseph M. Tipton, who sits on the Court of Criminal Appeals bench, will both leave after September of next year.
The announcements come after the state legislature left Tennessee without a way to replace judges who step down or die when a commission expires at the end of next month.
Members of the soon-to-be-defunct Judicial Nominating Commission will make recommendations for replacements to give to Haslam before the panel expires. Haslam will appoint the replacements from those recommendations.
