WBFF Fox 45 :: New Search Planned for Missing Bedford Co. Kids - John Dunn

A Bedford County family refuses to give up on two missing children who were thought to have died in a fire that killed their grandparents.

The bodies of Chloie Leverette and her brother Gage Daniel were never found.

This weekend search dogs will be brought in to see if they can pick up the trail.

Chloie and Gage have been missing since September.

Investigators have had few leads, and the details surrounding this case are very mysterious.

But these children have not been forgotten.

"We think about it constantly. It won't go away," says family member Sherry Hobbs.

The crime scene tape and piles of burned debris still remain on Kingdom Road in Bedford County.

"Our family is still emotionally and mentally upset by this," says Hobbs.

There's still no trace of Chloie Leverette and her brother Gage Daniel.

The bodies of grandparents Leon and Molly McClaran were found in the fire, but the kids disappeared.

"They're precious children.  They're missing out, and we need them back here," says family member Mary Lamb.

Family members live with broken hearts. They believe someone kidnapped the children.

And now, the search is beginning again.

On Saturday the Bloodhound Search and Rescue Team will be looking for Chloie and Gage.

FOX 17 News profiled the dog team last year.

"It's just another tool in the toolbox to help anybody try to bring closure to the family," says team leader Carl Alexander.

Relatives hope to generate new leads. The TBI has an open investigation.

"We want to keep this alive.  We want to keep going - anything we can do," says Hobbs.

The hard part is not knowing. Mary Lamb asks herself who might have killed her brother and his wife, and then taken the children.

"Keep doing something to try and find out all you can," says Lamb.

Now, with a new search in the works, she hopes closure is in sight.

"There's no answer to it, and we need an answer," says Lamb.

There is a  $2,000 reward in this case.

The amber alert for Chloie and Gage remains active.

Couple's bodies found in their Blount County home
May 20, 2013 20:14 GMT

LOUISVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- The Blount (blunt) County sheriff's office says preliminary results of autopsies on the bodies of a couple found dead in their home in Louisville (LEW'-ihs-vil) show their deaths are consistent with murder-suicide.

Marian O'Briant said in an email that it appears 54-year-old Steven Adkins shot 53-year-old Rebecca Adkins, then shot himself.

O'Briant said a family member found the bodies Sunday night. It wasn't clear how long they had been dead.
