The dates are set for the first two Nashville Predators games this season. Sources tell FOX 17 Sports that the Preds will start play on January 19th at home against the Columbus Blue Jackets. Two nights later, the Preds host the St. Louis Blues. NHL owners ratified the new collective bargaining agreement on Wednesday. Players are expected to do the same by either Friday or Saturday. Once the CBA is fully ratified, teams will begin training camps, most likely on Sunday.

Take-out beer allowed again

MARYVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- A change in state law means that officials are no longer cracking down on restaurants selling takeout craft beer.
The Daily Times (http://bit.ly/Zl8y7f) reports the new regulations mean the Smoky Mountain Brewery in Maryville is now serving "growlers" again. Growlers are jugs filled with draft beer that customers can take with them when the leave.
State regulators began cracking down on the practice earlier this year, which led to complaints from restaurants and patrons.
The Copper Cellar family of restaurants stopped selling takeout beer in all four of its East Tennessee locations for a time, but made changes in some locations that allowed sales to resume before the new law was passed.
Now, all their locations are able to offer the beer for off-site consumption.
