Compromise in Congress. A deal to pull the country back from the fiscal cliff isn't sitting well with everyone. The House passed the Senate bill around 10pm last night. Many Republicans say there's a lack of spending cuts.
"There's a lot not to like about the bill, it doesn't have spending cuts, it doesn't show any kind of fiscal restraint, it continues to give some of these special interest tax breaks that we've said need to be off the books," says Congressman Marsha Blackburn (R-TN 7th District).
Marsha Blackburn wasn't the only Tennessee lawmaker to vote against last night's bill. Congressmen Jim Cooper (D-TN 5th District), Diane Black (R-TN 6th District) and Scott Desjarlais (R-TN 4th District) voted no. Tennessee Senators Lamar Alexander (R-TN) and Bob Corker (R-TN) passed the bill.
