Frank and Jamina Jackson spent their first Christmas together as husband and wife Tuesday.
"We just recently got married," Frank Jackson said. "A month ago as of [Monday], and to be able to come up here and share in this tradition with them, it's really special."
That traditions he's referring to, is going to the movies Christmas day.
"To me it s just getting out, seeing people, being in the spirit," Jamina Jackson said.
But instead of fighting the crowds to see the latest Hollywood blockbuster, they opted for for a quieter afternoon at the Belcourt, with Jamina's mother to see the Christmas classic…at least it's a classic for most people
"Confession, Jamina said. "I have never seen it."
But that all changed Tuesday afternoon.
"My new husband Frank has been to see "It's a Wonderful Life," before on Christmas day, she said. "It's a first for my mom and I."
"That stuff warms our hearts," said Stephanie Silverman, executive director of the Belcourt Theater. "I mean that's really why we're here."
Silverman said it's stories like these that make the Belcourt special.
While you can watch it s a Wonderful Life on TV every Christmas, families have been coming in to watch it in the privately run, non-profit theater over the last four days.
"This was a movie that was made for the big screen and that is the way that it's best," Silverman said.
There's no better way for Jamina and her mom to see the classic for the first time.
And the Jacksons hope this is the first of many Christmas days together at the movies...
"It's a whole new chapter in my life," Frank said. "It's really exciting to start it off this way."

Tishomingo County voters OK beer, alcohol sales
May 22, 2013 23:38 GMT
IUKA, Miss. (AP) -- Tishomingo County is the latest Mississippi jurisdiction to legalize alcohol sales.
Voters approved the sale of liquor, wine and beer Tuesday, reports the Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal (http://bit.ly/13JCcix).
It wasn't clear referendums would pass until affidavit ballots were counted Wednesday.
With more than half Tishomingo County's voters casting ballots, legalizing alcohol passed by 42 votes, while legalizing beer and light wine passed by 73. The county borders Alabama and Tennessee.
Lawmakers legalized liquor at a proposed resort at the county's Bay Springs Lake in 2010, but it wasn't built.
Greene County voters legalized beer sales last year, while Corinth, New Albany and Senatobia have legalized alcohol sales under a 2012 law that allows cities to hold votes.
Mississippi has 13 remaining counties that allow no beer or alcohol sales.
