"It talks about truck warmed up and cutting down trees" says Preston Brust.
An Average Joes Muddy Christmas has a few classics like "Do You Hear
What I Hear" performed by Josh Gracin, but mainly features songs that
are far from the norm. Tunes with titles like "Beer With Santa" and
"Santa In A 4-Wheel Drive"
"We just started having fun man, gotta
have cookies in oven, made a list of things that have to happen at a
redneck Christmas" says Brust.
LoCash Cowboys, who just
recently signed to the label, secured the very last slot on the album
with an original song they wrote called "What Time Is It".
"We
were talking about young Christmas memories. I remember my dad taking us
to woods this one Christmas, he was like we are gonna do this right. He
is red neck, he was like we gonna cut down a Christmas tree boys.We
couldn't afford a chain saw, we just cut it down, yelling timber. So we
put timber in the song" laughs Brust.
A director in Los
Angeles, was sent all the songs and had to pick one for a music video
and "What Time Is It" topped her list!
"It's kinda like the Griswals meet Lo Cash" laughs Brust.
Preston says while they were acting, the video pretty much reflects what the holidays are really like for them!
"My
dad kicks off video in overalls, which is what he wears on Christmas
morning. I don't think it will replace deck the halls or silent night
but it's a nice alternative - get a little red neck edge" says Brust.

Houston brother will be his own attorney in court
June 18, 2013 13:02 GMT
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- A Roane County man will face federal gun violation charges next month without an attorney.
The Knoxville News Sentinel (http://bit.ly/17VlXpM ) reported Rocky Joe Houston will represent himself on a charge of possession of a gun by a felon.
The charge came after Houston earlier represented himself in state court on charges stemming from a police chase. He was convicted of evading arrest and reckless endangerment.
Houston and his brother, Leon Houston, were tried, but not convicted, in the 2006 shooting deaths of a Roane County deputy and his ride-along companion.
In federal court, Rocky Joe Houston is claiming the officer who charged him with the felony had no legal authority.
