Frightening moments at Antioch High School after a small bomb is detonated.
Students heard the explosion just after nine Monday morning.
The incident has some parents demanding action.
Parents received anxious phone calls after a loud boom was heard in a men's bathroom.
"At this time we think it was just the individual who brought the device and set it off," says Tony Majors with Metro Schools Student Services.
School leaders believe a student detonated the small homemade device in the bathroom.
Thankfully, no one was hurt and there was no damage.
Still, it's a serious offense.
"In this situation the biggest concern is, number one, someone did bring something like this into our school, and number two, we did have other students present," says Majors.
The school was placed on lockdown for nearly two hours as police, and the bomb squad cleared the area.
Some parents like Lile Aparicio showed up to pick up their children.
Aparicio says it's frightening to know a bomb is involved.
"I mean what if the kid brought it to blow up the whole school or at least part of the school, and he just mishandled it, or did something wrong and it went off in the bathroom?," wonders parent Lile Aparicio.
At this time, school leaders don't believe the incident is part of a larger plan.
"We have no evidence or no information that says there was any intent to cause any harm to any individual," says Majors.
Metro Police and school administrators continue to investigate this incident. At this time no arrests have been made.
School will continue on Tuesday as normal.
Some parents tell FOX 17 News the school needs to a do better job of notifying them when incidents happen in the building.
Metro school leaders say the first priority is student safety.

Prince Edward presents Edinburgh's awards in Tenn.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Queen Elizabeth's youngest son, Prince Edward, is visiting Tennessee to promote one of the British royal family's charities, the Duke of Edinburgh's awards.
The prince presided over an awards ceremony at the governor's mansion in Nashville on Thursday for the first batch of young Tennesseans to participate in the leadership and character program.
About 80 youths received the award by participating in community service, skills development, physical fitness and adventurous journeys through the Boy Scouts, Boys and Girls Clubs, LEAD Academy, Montgomery Bell Academy or the Miss Tennessee Scholarship Organization.
Following the event, Gov. Bill Haslam and first lady Crissy Haslam invited the awardees and their families to tea inside the governor's residence. Later on Thursday, the prince was scheduled to headline a black-tie gala at Montgomery Bell Academy in Nashville.
