Two firefighters were injured battling a house fire in east Nashville last night.
The firefighters were transported to Vanderbilt Medical Center. One firefighter is in critical condition, according to Ricky Taylor, District Fire Chief for the Nashville Fire Department. The other firefighter was treated and released. How the firefighters were injured is under investigation,
Firefighters arrived to the scene at 2610 Airpark Drive to heavy smoke at around 8:30 p.m. on Thursday. Taylor said one room of the house was damaged by fire, while the rest of the house has smoke and water damage. The house is occupied, but no one was home at the time of the fire.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Former Dyer County constable sentenced to prison

DYERSBURG, Tenn. (AP) -- Former Dyer County Constable Derick Shane Hundley has been sentenced to 25 years in federal prison.
The State Gazette (http://bit.ly/14UHydd ) reported Hundley was sentenced Monday after earlier entering a guilty plea to enticement of a minor through electronic means. The government dropped a child pornography count.
Prosecutors said Hundley, who is 30, used a cellphone to try to entice a minor female to have sex with him. Police arrested Hundley last July and found an external hard drive that contained numerous images of minors involved in sex. He resigned from the constable post he had won in 2010 after his arrest.
