WBFF Fox 45 :: Weapon Used in Halloween Party Murder Purchased Day Before Killings
A weapon used in a double murder at a Halloween party in Montgomery County was purchased the day before the killings. 4 of the 5 suspects in the High Point Road murders were in court today in Clarksville. Alleged trigger man Shakar Donte Drones waived his right to appear. 2 of his friends, 18 year old Harold Mosquera and 19 year old Courtney Hardiman, now face murder charges, along with Drones. For Campbell soldier Terron Fils testified he sold the murder weapon about 36 hours before the deadly shots were fired.

"I had went into the Silver Dollar Pawn Shop to sell the gun, and they wouldn't take it because I didn't have orders bringing me to Fort Campbell," says Fils. "2 guys approached me as I was walking out and they asked me was I selling it. So I sold it to them."

Detectives found the 9mm handgun and a .25 caliber automatic under a seat in the alleged getaway car. The victims, 21 year old Jason Rose and 20 year old Jecarvin Brown, reportedly didn't know any of the men charged in connection with their murders. The suspects' fate is now in the hands of a Grand Jury.Weapon Used in Halloween Party Murder Purchased Day Before Killings

2 appellate court judges are stepping down
May 24, 2013 21:29 GMT

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Two Tennessee appellate court judges have notified Gov. Bill Haslam that they will not run for another term on the bench in the August 2014 retention election.

Patricia J. Cottrell, a judge on the Court of Appeals, and Joseph M. Tipton, who sits on the Court of Criminal Appeals bench, will both leave after September of next year.

The announcements come after the state legislature left Tennessee without a way to replace judges who step down or die when a commission expires at the end of next month.

Members of the soon-to-be-defunct Judicial Nominating Commission will make recommendations for replacements to give to Haslam before the panel expires. Haslam will appoint the replacements from those recommendations.
