WBFF Fox 45 :: EXCLUSIVE: Alleged Scuffle Leads to Assault Charges Against Sumner Co. Political Candidate
Neighbors Restaurant and Bar in Sylvan Park plans to open a new location on Saunders Ferry Road in Hendersonville. The proposed site is near the home of accountant Pam Tidwell, who's running for Ward 2 Alderman. Tidwell turned herself in this week to face charges she assaulted a waitress at Neighbors' Sylvan location. The waitress was trying to take Tidwell's picture and a license number after the restaurant's owner says Tidwell caused a disturbance inside.

"Saying how a business like this wouldn't be allowed in Hendersonville and that our kind, we're not acceptable there," says restaurant owner Jody Myers. "That she'll do anything she can to see that it doesn't happen."

Pam Tidwell wouldn't talk with us on camera, but tells FOX17 she never touched the waitress. The candidate is free on bond tonight. If the case goes to trial, a jury will get to see the surveillance tape and decide for themselves. Afghan pilots learn air assault tactics from 101st
May 19, 2013 16:48 GMT

By KRISTIN M. HALL Associated Press

BAGRAM AIR FIELD, Afghanistan (AP) -- With Afghan troops increasingly leading combat operations on the ground, the Afghan Air Force's fledgling helicopter fleet based in Kabul has learned new techniques to support them from the air.

The U.S. Army's 101st Combat Aviation Brigade started a new training program at Bagram Air Field for Afghan helicopter pilots to learn how to perform air assault missions, which they have started to use in combat operations.

101st Combat Aviation Brigade Commander Col. Paul Bontrager said the Afghans need to be weaned off American aviation during the drawdown of U.S. forces this year.

The ability of Afghan helicopters to quickly drop soldiers into combat is a new and critical role.
