Beer Sales will be Limited at the State Fair

If you're going to the Tennessee State Fair this year, don't expect to get a cold one on the mid-way.

In an effort to make the event more family friendly, officials are clamping down on alcohol sales.

In fact, the site will be alcohol-free this year except for the grandstands, where they will sell beer.

Former mayoral candidate and Nashville fire chief Buck Dozier is now the executive director of the fairgrounds.

He says he thinks the new no-booze policy will help make the fair more family friendly.

"After talking to our security people and talking with the staff here. We felt like what we are trying to emphasize as I try to reinvent this fair here...is Family...Children.. and Fun... and alcohol just doesn't really go with that."

The state fair runs September 5-th through the 14-th at the fairgroundsBeer Sales will be Limited at the State Fair
