Tragic Accident Claims Life
A tragic accident in Madison claims the life of a 51-year-old man.
Metro police Captain Randy Hickerson said the accident happened in the 1700 block of Gallatin Pike around 8:20 Monday night.
Hickerson said the man, who's name has not yet been released, was running across Gallatin Pike from Olive Garden heading to Books-A-Million when he stumbled and was hit by a pick-up truck traveling southbound on the street.
The victim was taken to Vanderbilt Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. He was pronounced dead by hospital officials, Hickerson said.
Police say Alcohol was not a contributing factor in the accident.
