Restaurant Employee Stabbed to Death- Erika Lathon
An innocent bystander is dead after trying to calm a confrontation between a coworker and a man inside a crowded restaurant in Antioch.
The incident, which police are calling a tragic accident, happened at the O’Charley’s located just off of Bell Road around 9:00 p.m. Wednesday.
Metro police say David Kimball, 28, was looking to settle a drug debt with a waiter at the restaurant and said the victim, 39 year old Eris Bruno, was not the intended target.
When Kimball walked through the front door of the restaurant authorities say he was met by several employees, including Bruno, who were trying to calm the situation.
Kimball is said to have pulled out a knife and fatally stabbed Bruno, who died at the scene.
Bruno was a kitchen manager at the restaurant but was not working at the time.
“He had just come by the restaurant to see friends and to hang out. He did think enough of the restaurant, the staff, to try to intervene to prevent trouble,” said Aaron.
Kimball is currently in police custody and faces criminal homicide charges. His bond is set at $750,000.
