Error Keeps Students Out of Pre-K Program-Erika Lathon
Just days before the start of school dozens of metro parents are learning their children won't be attending the pre-kindergarten program.
The mix-up means about 25 students won't be attending Paragon Mills and Glenview Elementary.
The District says someone mis-read a spread sheet and accepted too many students into the limited pre-kindergarten program.
Kim Noseworthy had to break the news to her four year old daughter Zoe on Monday.
She says it was difficult to explain especially after shopping for school clothes and supplies.
School administrators say the district risked losing federal funding if the problem wasn't corrected.
Students like Zoe will now be placed on a waiting list for openings in other pre-k programs.
