Motorcycle And Scooter Sales Are Up In Middle Tennessee - Cindy Carter

Many Middle Tennesseans are exchanging four wheels for two. Experts say motorcycle and scooter sales have doubled compared to this time last year.

High gas prices are fueling the extra sales. Owner of A-1 Funcycles in Nashville Tom Ward says scooters, motorcycle scooters and motorcycles will get anywhere from 70 to 120 miles to the gallon.

"Its just fantastic to see people that can go and take a 200 mile trip and only spend about six dollars in fuel." Ward says the bikes aren't replacing the family car but they do provide a cost effective option for people trying to spend less on gas.
