WBFF Fox 45 :: TSU & Smyrna High School React to Wayne Jones' Death
Two campuses are mourning the loss of one of their own.  Wayne Jones collapsed at practice on Wednesday and was pronounced dead at Baptist Sports Park later in the evening.  On Thursday, TSU officials reacted to the death.  Smyrna High School, where Jones graduated, is also dealing with grief.  FOX 17 Sports Director Paul Jones has the story.TSU & Smyrna High School React to Wayne Jones' Death

HOOVER, Ala. (AP) -- Demarcus Henderson and Wes Rea both had RBI singles in the ninth inning to lift Mississippi State to a 5-3 win over South Carolina Wednesday night in the second round of the Southeastern Conference tournament. The Bulldogs loaded the bases with one out before Henderson and Rea drove in runs on consecutive at-bats for the second time in the game.

HOOVER, Ala. (AP) -- Ray Parker pitched eight-plus innings to lead Texas A&M to a 5-0 victory over top-seeded Vanderbilt on Wednesday in the second round of the Southeastern Conference baseball tournament. The Aggies produced three solo homers and Parker made sure it was plenty in the double-elimination tournament.

NEW YORK (AP) -- Brandon Phillips bounced a bizarre double over first base to snap a ninth-inning tie, and the Cincinnati Reds completed a three-game sweep of the struggling New York Mets with a 7-4 victory Wednesday. Joey Votto homered and Zack Cozart had a career-high four hits, all off Matt Harvey.
