Cyberstalking is the latest trend in technological terror.

It's just like the old-fashioned fashioned kind but the people who do it use computers and cell phones as tools to terrorize and harass their victims.

Melissa Conway and finance Richard Sommer claim they've been harassed by one of Conway's former romantic rivals for months.

Most of the texts are to racy to even tell our viewers about and at least one of them appears to imply some sort of threat.

Conway and Sommer say some of the texts have come very late at night or early in the morning.

They've saved the texts and have collected detailed billing records from their cell phone provider.

They hope to collect enough evidence to convince a magistrate to issue a warrant.

But just like conventional stalking, cyberstalking, as it's called is a misdemeanor in Tennessee on first offense with a maximum punishment of 11-months and 29-days in jail.

A second offense can be a felony in Tennessee.

That's why police say it's so important for victims to report the crime and follow through with prosecution.

One of the most recent trends in cyberstalking includes e-mails that say the person who sent the message has been hired to kill you and the only way to keep them from carrying out the job is to pay them a certain amount of money.

Cases like that have been reported all over the middle Tennessee area in recent months.

The FBI says those messages often originate in other countries and are generated by scammers trying to separate people from their money.
