Saving You Money, 9/14/09-Stacy Case
We're all looking for ways to save a buck these days, and your next trip to the grocery store represents a big opportunity.
TRACK: PUTTING FOOD ON THE TABLE TAKES A BIG BITE OUT OF YOUR BUDGET.
NAT: with kids out back (TAPE 2)
TRACK: KELLY HANCOCK WORKED FOR A FORTUNE 500 COMPANY UNTIL SHE HAD HER FIRST CHILD.... WITH HER INCOME CUT IN HALF, SHE KNEW SHE HAD TO DO THE SAME WITH HER FOOD BUDGET AND SHE WAS ABLE TO DO IT WITHOUT USING COUPONS. stacy: 11;58 what's your first rule of thumb on saving 50% on your grocery bill kelly the first rule of thumb is to shop the sale ads.. (cut to ) 12:15ish so I would go through here to start off and I would find the things (match cuts 13:17 grapes..) like the grapes are 99 cents (match cuts 13:22 apples) the apples are 99 cents.. those would be our staple fruits for the week 12:24
(drastic transition-- whole screen wipes in or twirls in... drastic ) 12:24 stacy: and I know a lot of times people think when they're trying cut money out of their food budget, they have to forego fresh fruits and vegetables. not the case? kelley: no (CUT TO ) 12:39 but instead of buying the most expensive item.. we go for what's on sale which is usually what's in season.. 12:40
(shots of meat) TRACK: SHE FOLLOWS THE SAME PLAN FOR MEATS --- USUALLY THE MOST EXPENSIVE PART OF YOUR GROCERY BUDGET.
(drastic transition-- whole screen wipes in or twirls in... drastic ) 15;46 Like for instance this is usually 3.50 to 3.99 a pound..(match cut 18:58 chicken on sale in flyer) this week it's 1.99 that's a great deal. stacy: so your focus this week and what you will include in all of your meals is chicken.. kelley15:55 and maybe not every meal but a majority of them. so the majority of my meals this week will have chicken in them.. or some verison. laughs.. until my husband tells me otherwise 16:02 laughs Saving You Money, 9/14/09-Stacy Case
