TBI's Most Wanted
Matthew Welker is a convicted sex offender with a pattern of seeking relationships with women who have children. His latest girlfriend dumped him and got an order of protection after she found out about his violent criminal past.
Welker is also wanted for perjury and falsifying state records. While he was living with his new girlfriend in dover, he told the state's sex offender registry he was living with his mother here in Clarksville.
Welker met his most recent girlfriend over the internet, and authorities fear he could meet another unsuspecting woman the same way.
In 1994, Welker killed a girlfriend's 15 month old son. He was convicted of involuntary manslaughter after a psychiatrist testified he suffered from a form of post traumatic stress called intermittent explosive disorder.
Matthew Welker was born in 1972. He has brown hair and blue eyes, stands 5'10" and weighs about 200 pounds. Welker has diabetes and back problems. And the TBI believes he's still in the Middle Tennessee area.
