TULLAHOMA, Tenn. - 34 year old Lt. Commander Alan Patterson was killed earlier this week. The Tennessee airman was a father, husband, brother and son. FOX17's John Dunn sat down with Patterson's family as they prepare to honor his memory. On Monday, Patterson was the instructor on board a Prowler aircraft when it crashed during a training mission 50 miles west of Spokane, Washington.
"He loved what he did, and he was always very, very proud of what he did," says younger brother Craig Patterson.
Craig says he looked up to Alan. They both attended Webb School and played LaCrosse. Craig even followed in Alan's Naval footsteps. The brothers were deployed on the U.S.S. Roosevelt together, an experience Craig treasures.
"He loved what he did, and he was always very, very proud of what he did," says younger brother Craig Patterson.
