A major development in the controversial Murfreesboro mosque dispute. A federal judge overrules a previous decision banning the Islamic Center of Murfreesboro from using its new facility. That ruling means the mosque may be open in time for members to mark an important Islamic observance. Rutherford County Chancellor Robert Corlew barred the Islamic Center from using the mosque. He believed Rutherford County did not give the public enough notice about a public hearing on the project. Some saw that as religious discrimination because the same requirement wasn't imposed on other religious institutions, and Wednesday a federal judge agreed. It's a defeat for mosque opponents like Kevin Fisher, who've spent 2 years trying to prevent this building from being used.
