LOS ANGELES, California - We had a chance to chat with Zooey Deschanel about "New Girl" on a red carpet in Los Angeles a couple of weeks ago. She says that she can't tell us any details, but there are a lot of great new episodes coming up. It seems like her character on the show is so popular because she is so likeable, but Deschanel says that personally she doesn't relate to her character all that much, and is certainly acting when she is on cam as Jess.

"I love my character, but we aren't alike," says Deschanel. "I am definitely playing a character, but she is dealing with things that are universal and I can always find truth in that."
