WBFF Fox 45 :: SAVING YOU MONEY: Bank Fees, Holiday HIring
In tonight's Saving You Money report, good news on the banking front.  We've covered the topic of banking fees extensively, directing you to smaller, regional banks to avoid them.  Now Money Magazine is out with a list of the best bankd to help you avoid fees and two of the top four banks have locations here here in the MIdstate.  U.S. Bank, the nation's 4th largest bank came out on top.  Money says the bank was voted best for basic, senior and student checking accounts.  First Citizens also made the list with free basic checking and low minimum balances.
It seem the economic downturn is taking its toll on more and more families.  Student debt has now hit a record high as more people head back to school after job loss and as the cost of tuition continues to rise.  Pew Research found $22 million, or one our of five households, have student debt.
To help pay off some of that debt, or any debt for that matter, you may want to consider a seasonal job. Holiday hiring looks brighter than in recent years, but still below pre-recession numbers.  Toys R Us plans to hire five thousand more workers than last year.  Kohl's, WalMart and Amazon are also expected to hire more holiday workers.  Start your search now because job applications will pile up during the month of October and you want yours to be at the top of the heap.
